Default 944 NA Chin spoiler for CHEAP.

I was looking to add a nice chin spoiler to my '84 NA and wasn't finding a lot of options. The pre formed fiberglass ones were a little expensive and a little over the top styling wise. The universal EZlip kits all looks like garbage and have terrible reviews, plus the bottom of the bumper only has a ~10mm edge that you can attache to. There were several universal "splitter" type deals on ebay, but since my car is not lowered I thought a splittler would look silly vs a lip that actually extends the bumper down. I also wanted to make sure it was something that wouldn't flop around at speed or fold under if it dragged on a driveway. I finally found the answer.

2003 Ford Mustang Mach 1 Chin Spoiler. They can be had all day for ~$50. I took a risk and ordered one not knowing if the width or the curve would work with the 944. I got very lucky and it worked perfectly. All in I spend less than $100.
Materials need:
1 mustang spoiler. Try to find one without pre drilled holes.
2'x4' sheet of 1/8" ABS plastic
M5 Riv Nuts
M5 flat cap screws
M5 socket cap screws
M5 fender washers
M5 lock nuts

Initial mock up. Width is perfect. Sides are long but they will be cut short. The only issue is the front profile. The 944 bumper dips in and the mustang spoiler has more curve.

The plan. I would need to cut a curved piece of ABS that the spoiler would bolt to. This would help adjust the curve of the spoiler to better match the front of the car provide a method of attaching it to the front of the car in a secure way. Bolting to the bottom of the bumper didn't seem like a good option since there was so little material there so instead I opted to clamp the edge of the bumper between 2 pieces of ABS and then securely bolt the spoiler to the engine tray and outside edges of the bumper.

First part cut and holes drilled in the spoiler to attach:

All parts cut out and ready to assemble. I added curves to the under tray since the bottom of the bumper sits ~1" lower than the engine shield. Originally I tried making the "clamp" part in a single piece but found there was a little part in the middle of the bumper it was catching on so i cut it in half.

It is very solid and easy to remove. 4 bolts on the engine shield. 2 bolts on the sides of the bumper, and then 8 bolts to loosen the ABS Clamp.

This looks exactly like what I am thinking of doing. Not over the top and cheap. How did this hold up? Any issues with it falling off?
