Other idea, take the money and the car, get a primo 931 shell and swap ALL the 951 internals into it, engine, brakes, ALL. Lighter car, can get comp/coll and still have a Porsche, I like that idea.

Dave,
Out of fear that Tifo will say I am the cause of high insurance rates because I tried to get every penny when my S2 was stolen I will not offer you advise on how to set a value for your car with the insurance co on the public forum.
However, if you PM me or better yet post a request in this public forum I will be happy to oblige.

Dave,
I am very sorry to hear about the accident. The important thing is that you are okay. I would not waste your time dealing with a salvaged car, considering the amount of money and time we put into these cars to keep them going (you would never recover any value in the future). Either get the 931--neat idea, or find another 951 and transplant some parts. Good luck!!

I wrecked the hood, windshield, fender, header panel, and headlight assembly in a recent accident, and the estimate was only 7500. Yours sounds high to me. The insurance wont just give you the lowest estimate either, they will be a pain. I ended up taking the check and fixing it myself for less than 2000, but i havent gotten it painted yet.
