Jeez guys, why don't you go with Canadian Direct? I have a 25% discount with ICBC, and I get my collision and comp with Canadian Direct...total about $180/month...mind you that's not including my 99$/month payment on my 5 year loan...

If its HSBC I called them and they basically told me to take a hike, they hardly talked to me since I only have 2 years driving experience Im stuck with ICBC.
Rich - Thats what my quote was with 2 mill 3rd party, $1000 deductable, comprehensive, etc. With 3 mill 3rd party and $300 I wasnt far from $5000 a year. With all the east indians and asians in this city and their.... Habit of ganging up on anyone I dont want to drive around with $250k or less of third party coverage. Already had one runin and I got out clean because ICBC chose to go after the right person and not nail the young guy.

Wow! I'm paying $104 per month. Of course I don't have extended coverage with ICBC: CD like Brendan. And my car is just insured for pleasure use (ahhh what a pleasure ). And it's not a turbo. But $360 /month? That's insane. You might want to talk to an insurance broker or look into extended coverage with someone other than ICBC.
I've never had a claim with CD so I'm not sure how well they handle the whole thing but I was with a different company that was equally inexpensive (relative to ICBC) several years ago and when I had a claim with them it was all much easier than any claim I've had with ICBC.
Anyway, good luck to both Wagz and theedge with their new cars. Hopefully we can get a drive together soon. Also you both have to promise to bring them out to the autocrosses this year Get comfortable with what they're (and you're) capable of.

Ouch. Canadian insurance sucks. Is it from lack of competition or government regulation (or both)?
If I just had the Porsche, I'd be paying $120/month. And I'm a single male under 30, living in the #1 state for car theft and red light running deaths. If I lived in NC or one of the Midwestern states, I'd pay about $50/month for just the Porsche.

Plus we get all the ricers wrapping their civics around lamp poles, so that screws us cause we're young and thus thrown in with the demographic of "retarded young people with a good car".
