Thanks!

Believe it or not, that's a Maaco paint job! I stripped it down myself and paid them $1k for the paint and another $600 for body work. I also spent about $2k on new seals, speakers, badges, rear valance, beer, etc.

So, I guess it's about a $3.5k job.

It looked like this when I gave it to them...

Wow that quality paint job from Maaco? I am stunned. Given the amount of work done you made out very nicely. It helped that you pitched in a lot of the labor. The car looks factory new!

Ken, the car is awesome, and if I had the money I would have sold mine and bought it from Andrew in a second. The price he was asking was an incredible bargain considering the amount of work done. I remember seeing it LRP last year and it was a very fast car. I’m sure you’ll be satisfied.

I might ask you for some info on the splitter off line if you don’t mind, since I’m considering buying the same one and don’t have any close up shots.

I remember that. It turned out nicely, congrats! Could you post the pic of the long string of empty beer bottles again? That was cool.

All in all, I'm very satisfied. But being honest, the car does have a few flaws on it, and has been a little more prone to stone chips. It's nothing major and only really noticable when you look for it, so it's easily worth the $3-6k that I didn't spend. And yes, most shops wanted $5-8k for a "good" (not a "great") paint job...

BB, I'm planning on doing the same thing next month. How long did your strip-down take? I was hoping to get it done over a weekend, give them a week with the car, and re-assemble the following weekend with new seals and badges. Is that a basecoat/clearcoat job?
