When do you people expect me to drive my Audi Quattro? The key to year round fun in Wisconsin (Michigan, Montana etc...) is to own a WINTER sports car.

Used Quattro's are cheap. Every Porsche owner up north should have one.

I saw a NEW 996 parked on the side of the road a month ago it had snow hafl-way up the wheels... slush splattered on the side.. must be nice to have enough money not to care.

I wait until I see the Street Sweepers out.. Rain can wash the salt, but the lost dirt/sand/rock that gets kicked up it deadly.

I wish I could!!!!

Even the NAs and 16valves are a handfull in the icy wet, mine's on the road all year round (in the UK that's ALOT of cold, wet weather).

Hey, that's what galvanized body pannels are for!!!!!

I'm with the bunch that wait for the rain to wash the salt off of the road and a few sunny days after that. I'm not to concerned with what day or month though. Just the rain and sun!

" After it has been warm enough to melt the snow and we've had enough rain to wash the roads clean of the salt - only then will I consider bringing the little bugger out. I have a couple of very capable winter cars that I don't mind driving in the winter months, so it's not a huge sacrifice."

That is my plan every year....Usually happens about the first week of May...

mid march she comes out of hibernation to go to the good herr doktor, ed pimm, to cut out and replace the front pan. then she gets the engine checked over.. im thinking it may be time for a valve job. when she goes on the road all depend on that, weather, and my 6th sense of whens it good to go.

and i agree.. its not snow, its salt that causes these cars to rot.

It's been a very mild winter in Boston, so I've been driving my p-car throughout. Heck, I'm even still riding my motorcycle occasionally b/c it's been so dry!
