I have a dash overlay in my 914. No cracks or anything, and fitment is great. I wouldn't get a dash mat instead. I had one in my saab and didn't like it very much. Carpet is supposed to be on the floor.

Devon, I might be interested in the black cover. Do you have any pics or a link to show which one it is?

Thanks,

Get another CoverLay and then use a sun-shade.

I like the carpeted ones, they cut down reflections in the windshield better than the shiny plastic covers. If you buy extra velcro, they stick down really well.

NO CARPET!!! Makes it look like a pimp-mobile. Unless that's what you want. . .

GAWD I freakin' hate dash mats.

Anyone have the carpet for the early 944 dash? I am looking at one (84) and the dash is cracked...

Iv seen davids old dash mat in person, it looked suprisingly good. I think its better then a cheezy buldgy plastic cover.

I put on a carpet-style cover over my (really) cracked early dash. I contact cemented the whole thing on so it fits well. Looks a lot better than the cracks underneath it....
