Default cleanup stippped interior

Hi everyone, I'm stripping the interior of a 944 to build a racecar. Any tricks on how to cleanup the glue and other crap after the carpet and sound deadening is torn out?

Thank,
Gord.

Yes, Use a electric multi-tool to strip the sound deadening.. I used a flat blade. and It Zips right through it... After you have removed all the big heavy stuff, you will be left with just the residual black crap.. It is petroleum based so lacquer thinner works well to wipe it up.. Use a cloth rag because the disposable ones fall apart..

Might want to take a look at my build if it gives you any ideas... "A Racecar is born" Just search for that thread.. goes through the entire build.

Have fun!

Did mine last winter. Not fun. I had my best luck using mineral spirits soaked into a rag and then letting it lay over an area for half an hour. I also had good luck on some areas with WD-40.
It seems like they may have used two different kinds of adhesive?

In the front foot wells I tried using dry ice and it didn't work well. It did harden the rubber coating under the car and that started to break off but the tar like stuff inside didn't respond well. Ended up using heat gun and putty knife followed by mineral spirits.

Mine turned out great, just took a lot of work.

heating it makes it mushy creates more work, Just spend the $60 and you wont regret it... I bet if I have more that 45 min into stripping my interior crap its allot.. Rip though it with this...….Shop Vac for all the pieces and wipe.. Done... I saw the Dry ice Video on youtube..Im sure it works but wow...Time/ buckets/ , buying the ICE... waiting for your order... allot of messing around instead of 45 min of work... Earbuds and hearing protection over them. Listen to tunes and done..

If you use any silicone based products it will ruin any chance of having nice paint (assuming you will paint the interior when done) so WD-40 will create Fisheye in any coatings... I have done 2 interiors so far and they turned out great..
