944 becomes avgerage
I was searching 0-60 and 1/4 mile times on Car-stats.com and looked at the averages for the year 2003 they are almost exactly identical to the times posted for my 944. It took 15 years for the world to catch up. here are the links:

IMHO I dont give a crap that some new sedan might be faster...
Chances are mine cost less to buy, and again IMHO a 944 is miles ahead in the exterior and interior looks than 99% of new cars.
So many new cars today have such horrendous interiors...

You know, even if those numbers are all accurate, it's probably not representative of the actual average. I bet a honda civic counts for just as much of the overall average as a ferrari 360, but in real life there are way more civics than ferraris.

I'm always amazed at what cars weigh today compared to our mid-80's 944's. Even with front wheel drive, light-weight components, and reduction in glass area many of todays models are porking up due to crash test requirements, air-bags, dB reductions, and larger wheel-tire combos. Even an early 90's Miata at 2200 lbs has gained about 200+ lbs over the years. The 944's have always impressed me more for useable mid-range power than killer 0-60 times. I'm curious what the track guys have been able to get their 951's down to as bare bones racers?
