Default Firehawk 968 cams

I just read that there was a “special” cam used in the Firehawk race cars. Does anyone have specs and details on those cams?

Thanks

The documentation I have says that the cam varied from builder to builder. Maybe check with RS Barn.

These cars were just regular 968s built to a Firehawk spec by individuals meeting certain specifications, IIRC.

PCA lists "Stock E' 968 at 236 hp.
PCA list F class 968 Firehawk at 242 hp,
a whopping +6hp increase, well within variation of two identical stock 968s.

At $200 per hp ($1200 for pair of cams is reasonable), it's probably the reason that back in the day, they were subbing the 16V exhaust cam for the 944S version and this makes sense with the minimal increase but it would mean deletion of the variocam to match the 944S exhaust cam sprocket teeth.

Have you found someone to grind those billets yet...?

If not, or you changed plans, I might be interested in getting those back.
