automatic to 5-speed update
Skiped worked yesterday and worked on the car all day. I have all of the major compents installed. Clutch, bellhousing, central tube, tranny, and rear supsension. I do most of my work alone, so getting the rear supsension back up required 3 floor jacks, one in the middle and one each side. Taking the rear suspension out as a unit is not that bad. The harderst part was undoing the 20 yr old brake lines. I got the central tube up doing the same thing with 2 floor jacks.
Sunday I hope to get the cv joints rebuilt, clutch lines in, master cylinder and slave cylinder. After that, I hope I don't **** all over myself if it works.

Yes, I got the shifter rod in. I have actually been cleaning each part and re-painting before installing. I even re-painted the central tube. So far everything has been a bolt in install. The only thing I'm concerned with, due to the fact that I have never taken it apart, is the clutch pedal and the shaft that it rides on. I have all of the parts from the donor car, just have never fooled with it.
I am stuck at one part though. Does anyone know which wires I need to wire together at the shifter to override the park and neutral start.??

When I did my conversion, I connected the 2 wires by the shifter lever. I don't remember what color they were but they were fairly large wires (maybe 12 gauge). The pedals are fairly straight forward. Installing the clutch master and punching the hole through the firewall should be fairly easy since the cutout is already there from the factory. One thing you will have to cut is in the shifter hole where the shifter linkage and the lever connects. There is an extra metal bracket welded in the hole for an auto and it gets in the way of the long manual shift linkage.

Lego, Thanks for the heads up. I saw the extra bracket, wasn't sure if it would get in the way or not. I'll cut it out if I have to. This conversion is not as bad as it seems. Everything is bolt in. It is almost like doing a complete clutch job and replacing the master cylinder and slave cylinder and all new lines. You just have the little detour of dropping the rear suspension and swapping out central tubes.
Luis, got the covers off, and by the time I looked at it trying to figure out how to get it off without damage, got dark and the better half said it was time to come in for supper. I will have it by no later than monday. Suppose to be sunny all day Sunday, and we have the local pca banquet tomorrow.
