Boxster S wheels on a 951?
#2
They bolt right up to a late offset car. I have a set of standard Boxster wheels but I test fit a set of S wheels and they fit fine also.

You might want to check with Damian in NJ about his experience.
IIRC, he had a set of boxster or boxster S wheels on his coupe for his snow tires and there was a clearance issue with the front brakes. I think he ended up with a thin spacer. Perhaps some of the wheel types that have been used on the boxster fit better than other types.

Dave isnt Damians a 968 coupe? If so I believe the issue is the dust cap and a thin (1/4") spacer should work. They bolted right up to my 87 no problems at all, FWIW.

Yes, his coupe was a 968, as I remember it the dust cap wasn't the issue, the problem was with the inside of the wheel making enough contact with the caliper to damage the finish. Hopefully he will see this post and give us the details. Since all our wheels should be hub-centric your point could well be an issue, but I also know of more than a few S2s with 968 wheels. If there is a hub issue it would be that the boxster is different than the 944/68, not the boxster/944 being different than a 968, your wheels fit without a problem didn't they?
Again, I don't think the problem is with all Boxster wheels, maybe just with certain styles or sizes. Ben needs to specify which wheels he is looking at as I think there have been a few different styles by now and a single answer might not work for all of them.

No there isnt, or better put I cant find reference to it. Almost all stock Boxster wheels are 8.5" wide. Even the "boxster" twists are 17X8.5. BTW - they can be had in a 17X9 for the 996 if anyone cares. The S wheels like hym8c is looking for are only 8.5" in the rear as well.
