Default Great day to be alive

Got the S2 and the WideGlide out for the first time since having my Spleen removed July 5th and being confined to an SUV or a truck for 4 weeks Felt the wind in my face on the Harley and enjoyed the back roads in the S2. The icing on the cake was I got to try on a Pantera for size at a local show. Glad I wasn't any older or taller with big feet. It was low to the ground and my feet filled up the footwell. That 351 breathing down your neck would make you forget about little annoyances I'm sure More icing on the cake was the Corvair Club with 14 Corvairs including a station wagon and a couple of Turbos like the 63 Spyder I had nearly 50 years ago. For those who don't know, Corvairs had an air cooled Turbocharged flat 6 when Porsche was still building 4 cylinder 356s. For some reason I'm drawn to Corvairs like a moth to a flame but don't feel need to own another one

There's a basket case station wagon.... early model about 1/2 mile from where I live. Interested?

I used to have a '62 sedan with the powerless glide auto transmission. My Dad was all about it, until he watched me change the plugs in it once. Also had the Air conditioning (almost required in Texas).total heap... nice fit and finish.. but couldn't get out of it's own way. Unloaded that sucker after about 3 months of ownership. Until about a month ago, I didn't even know they ever made a station wagon of it.

Glad to hear that you are doing better..sorry to hear about the spleen..hope that it's not anything long-term...I got a new knee last of June..doing OK.

Thanks for sharing Joe;

What a relief to know you are healing well.
Also, I am very happy to hear you've been out there enjoying yourself again.
Nothing like it; wind in your face, the smells, the cadence of that big engine 'thrumming' you down the road.

All the BEST in your continued recovery !

Thanks for the well wishes fellows. Tiger, one of the hard core Corvair guys lives just down the road from me. I just passed along to him a bit of Corvair memorabilia at the car show. I will tell him about the station wagon and thanks for the tip.

You are most welcome. Glad to hear that the spleenectomy is going well for you with all the healing etc.How long will you be in recovery mode? I don't know exactly what the billing was for the knee and all the titanium and nylon was, as I haven't got the bill yet. I got the bill from the gas-passer (anesthesiologist) and it was about 1400 for the neural injection right in the middle of the muscle on top of the leg (quadriceps) hurt worse than the surgery..I was asleep at the time, thank GOD. I guess that it was pretty deep, right next to the femur. OH well, it's in the past now..The Doc said come back next year...Now if I can just keep the right leg from shooting craps on me, I'll be good to go. Thanks for the kind words..I'll keep you posted when the bill comes rolling through. I expect about 10K+ just fror grins and giggles..
