Default 944S2 driveway find and restoration

Figured it might be worth a thread to show the progress and to ask questions to the cumulative knowledge of R'listers. I picked up the car from a fellow PCA member after it had been sitting under two car covers for the past five years. It is a one owner car and I have every receipt dating back to when the previous owner took European delivery. The previous owner also won her autocross class multiple years in this car.

Picture of the car as it was:

It came with two sets of wheels and tires. All eight tires were junk so new Continentals have been ordered. The following have now been completed as well:
Timing belt
Water pump
Drained all fluids including gas tank
replaced crankshaft gear
replaced timing chain tensioner pads
replaced t-stat
replaced fuel filter
serviced both front wheel bearings
changed diff oil
replaced all belts
replaced Hall switch
replaced battery.

Picture after this work and cleaned up a bit earlier this spring.

The cloth interior is pretty worn so I bought a whole new black leather interior from a local PCA member and have started swapping that over. Brakes arrived yesterday, but were the wrong size rotors :: The car does not have the M030 option, but it appeared to have the Koni suspension, but I am thinking that might have been swapped on after the car was purchased.

Finished putting in the new motor mounts last night along with new control arm rear bushings:

I think it needed the motor mounts pretty badly.

First question (and yes I have searched here and on google)... The front droplinks are completely shot (there is zero rubber left in the top and the bottom is totally seized). I have called Pelican and was told they sell just the replacement rubber bushings, but that would only solve half my problem. Everywhere else I look I see swaybar and droplink combos. I would like to keep the stock front bar and simply want to replace the droplinks. Does anyone sell just droplinks?

Aren't the drop links that same as all other 85.5 and later 944s (just different bushings)? Used ones should be out there.

Nice car.

Konis were available as part of the M474 "front / rear sport shocks" option. Not the same parts as M030, but sportier than standard equipment. Nice find!
