Default steering wheel

I was wondering if there is a way or do they sell any aftermarket product that will enable the steering wheel to come closer. You know how the corvettes have the tilt/tele steering columns. The way it is now it is a bit uncomfortable to drive especially without power steering. Would definately appreciate some ideas if there are any.TIA

There are some spacer/adaptors available for the pre 85.5 cars. I've seen them on eBay. They bring the wheel a few inches closer to you. It's been a while since I saw them - I think it was a Momo kit - can't remember. Maybe someone with some more 944 experience can help you here. I think you might be able the use a late stock wheel - not for sure.

I'll post the pics when I get them bolted up. You'd need spacers to get the correct offset on your car.

If I were you, which I'm not, I'd get some nice Fuchs. I love the look of the early offset cars, simply because you can fit them with wheels that actually have somewhat of a deep-dish lip.

My advice: Keep a watchful eye on eBay - find wheels with the right offset for your car. Be patient - there are some deals to be had on eBay. I paid $540 shipped for my set of 18" Turbo Twists simply because I was patient, persitent, and I found a seller who has $$$ and didn't feel the need to ask an arm and a leg for his set - he had them as a winter set for his 2002 Carrera 4 - Only 2K miles and they included tires! Now that's a deal.

Be patient my son! Plus you can sell your set of aftermarket wheels on eBay too - recoup some of the money spent on the new ones. I bet you'll find quite a few buyers interested in the set on your car (the ones in the pic).
