Default General questions and....

On my 83 944 there are toggle switched back on the consol/armrest. The first from the left is the mirrow change over switch. The second does nothing ( not that I have noticed). The third is missing all together and the 4th is just a dummy button. What are those suppose to be to?

I want to hook up a turbo to this car. How hard is it? Is it even possible? and How much HP does it give you. I see them on Ebay and it does not look like they are to expensive. Can anyone list what I might need beside a good shot of heroin.

"I want to hook up a turbo to this car."

Do a search. Probably the single biggest new NA owner question.

Much easier and cheaper to sell and buy a 951.

One of them is for the rear wiper if you have one, the other is for the front headlight washers. As for the turbo, I'd forget it, you would have to inflate your ego as well as your intake charge. It's not just the turbo thats different, you need to look into lots of other posts that will not only give the information you require but will also allow you to make an informed decission about the whole process, rather than the usual answer of "sell it and buy a turbo"

Non-turbo built 944s are not plug-and-play or "bolt-on" power cars. If you want to put a turbo on it, and not have it blow up you are probably looking at an average cost of 8 - 15,000 dollars. You would probably have to change your transmission, or at least the ratios to match up as well. The suspension and brakes are different on a stock Turbo car too. Too much work and hastle. Keep that car and spend the money on a Turbo car. You can have the two cars for the price of trying to mod yours up to one!

Take a pic of those switches and post so we can tell you what they are, we're not magicians.
