Sorry missed the request earlier. Here are a few pix from my S2. it is not a '91 but should be the same.
From you pix, your link is of a different design. Mine has 2 ball joints on the ends and the cable terminates into a cup that just pops on. I would worry that the throttle cable might come loose on your set up.

i wish i had yours Riff, but heres the deal. the engine is a 90' but i needed a throttle cable. i ordered one through the dealer. that is what they gave me. then they when i complained they said there was another S2 throttle number. however when they clicked on that it showed the same throttle cable and a new part number which is the pulley. basically what we got from all that is they dont make yours anymore and if you need a new one you have to get both.

Hey jaibeiber
I was looking at those pix of yours again and thought you might be missing a part with the newer linkage. Sure enough when I checked PET it looks like the dealership did not include a part for you. It shows that a "CLIP" PN# 964 423 435 00 is needed to properly seat the throttle cable. Go ask them for that piece and your cable problems should be over.
Hey Ryan, thanks for the MB website!
