Water leaks in footwells SOLVED
Let me share how I solved rain water leaks on my driver side and passenger side foot wells, occasionally right rear over the seat. For days I read everything I could on this site looking for answers.
Weeks earlier I cleared with plastic trim line and compressed air all four drain tubes and confirmed they drained quickly but I still had wet carpets after a downpour. I confirmed my battery tray was not the problem and was prepared to take out the blower fan despite its unlikeliness as the culprit. Ultimately I pulled back the interior on the A pillar and observed that when I poured water down the drain‘s most of it went down the drain but a substantial amount of water went through the drain catch basin and into the
interior of the car. As you can see from the pictures there were hairline cracks where the drain catch basin is attached to the roof of the car. When I cleaned out the hairline cracks and filled them with silicone. Problem solved.
