I was shopping around when I found a porsche designed external hard drive,

I knew they made things other than cars, but diddnt know they worked on any electronics *cough* mitsubishi

Diddnt Porsche AG used to make watches with IWC? Could have sworn it was them (the car makers)

Related to the family, I think. Porsche does do a lot of R&D for other companies though.
