how bout that blue vw used on the gti and r32

John, although the current silver color of your wheels is ordinary, it does look great. On a bright red car I just can't see any of those other options looking pleasing to the eyes. They all clash to harshly.
I had the same issue with my n/a red 944 and for a long time I had a set of guards red rims which matched ok. I think if you painted those big rims entirely guards red, it would be totally unique and look crazy.

I played with orange for a short while.




and the current look is back to the green. I plan on putting the splitter back on and doing more with the green.


and lastly, here is another friends car with my green phone dials. It's not bright red but more of a burgundy wine color. Still looks odd with green though.

I'm working on my 1988 Red 944 Spec Race Car right now and will have yellow Phone Dial wheels to match my race stripe and numbers. Haven't gotten everything done yet so you guys will just have to wait a little while for the pics. Should have everything done within 2 weeks as the race is 10/24 and I should have everything done by then.

White is the best for a track car despite the brake dust making them dirty. I have cookies in original black with metal trim, red and white. I like white the most.
