Default I've lost my bearings!

With my 83' 944 ,I seem to be having an issue with the rear wheel bearings that I don't recall in my previous other(3) 944's.I was hearing weird sound(flapping) from rear last summer which ended up being right rear bearing.I had that replaced and shortly after heard similar noise again(ended up being left bearing).Had that fixed and all was quiet for a while. Now I'm hearing the noise again from rear(and after trip to shop am told its the right rear again). The shop says it will honor warranty on work(less than 3000 miles) but the issue is whats the deal with the bearing failure.I don't drive car abusively so I'm am in wonderment.Anyone with similar bad experience with situation?

The stub axle is worn out where the outer roller bearing race rides on it.

Could also have had a loose hub at one time that has wallowed out the splines. This will cause the whole stack up to loosen in a short time.

If I had the $$$$ replacing these, the rear bearings and spacers on mine would be one of the first things.
