Thanks for pointing that pdf out to me by HEB.

Looking closely, it appears that there are minor differences between the S and S2 cams. Not sure I'm smart enough to interpret what these numbers really mean in laymans terms.

Intake begins opening 1 deg later on the 944S and closes 7 deg earlier.
Exhaust begins opening 3 degrees later but is open for 3 deg more than the S2.

Looks like perfect pair with available stock parts would be the intake cam from the S2 and exhaust cam from the S.

Yeah, it would appear to be that combination is the best stock configuration for the 2 cam 944s.

Looks like the exh durations are the same with the S2 exh shifted to open and close 3 degrees earlier than the S cam. Int duration is a tad longer with point of opening essentially the same.

Pulled the data on the 968 cams for a look - the Int duration is a big bump from the S and the point of opening before TDC (7 degress before TDC to 52 degrees after BDC). The exh has the same duration as the S and S2, but the point of operation is shifted later than the S (31 degrees before TDC to 1 degree after TDC) which results in an common overlap of about 8 degrees if I'm reading this right.
