Thumbs up Chicago Auto Show (56k beware)

Just got back from the Chicago Auto Show.

Porsche + autoshow = disappointment
The Porsche booth was one of my last stops, so I had pretty high hopes all day. Well, it sucked, hard. The best they had was the new 996TT Cabrio. The car on the turntable was a friggen Boxster! No GT3, no GT2, and worst of all, no Carrera GT. They had about 3 peppers, 2 boxsters, and a couple of C4S's, but none of the best.

Audi had this though:
Le Mans Trophies:

The new Chrysler Concept- ME4-12, or Mid-Engine, quad turboe, 12 cylinder:

's right, it's the 550 Spyder Anniversary edition, same paint colour as the Carrera GT. Those painted wheels are awesome!

I can't believe they didn't have a CGT at such a major show, what a bummer. Even us brits got to see one at the Autosport show here last month.

Awesome Pics! I was there yesterday, maybe next year we should have a Rennlist meeting area.

My pics are still converting. I shot most in RAW format and they need to be converted to JPEG. Kind of a hassle.

A person on the bus we took said he talked to a few people about the CGT and Mercedes SLR not being there. They said this show is organized by the greater Chicago dealer network. Detroit and L.A. are organized by the manufacturers. Sh*tty excuse for not having those two cars since the big three brought their new "toys". Whatever.

Why did you take a picture of an Indy Rookie League Crapwagon?

I'm suprised that ugly POS didn't crack your camera lens.

Yeah, it's the commerative edition, but I still didn't care. A car that's been out since '97 doesn't deserve to be the center piece! Hell, they let the 996 TT Cabriolet sit on the floor and be mauled by people.

The new Corvette actually looks pretty nice, and they had a rolling chassis with the LS2 in it there. I kept thinking "gee, will that fit in a 944?"

Ford GT was Best in Show IMO. That car is amazing, and those tires are HUGE!

I was looking through Bretts gallery and noticed the Avanti. I never new much about them, but had seen them around and allways thought they were kinda neat and wanted to find out more about them. On their web page I found this!

904

Is this old news or something new? It's a kit but still cool. My ex girlfreind was flipping through the porsche legends book and when she saw the 904 she thought it was a gt40.
