Peeling Ceramic Paint / Film Around Edge of Hatch
I've seen a lot of posts in the archives on dealing with hatch edge separation, but nothing conclusive on dealing with the scenario where the hatch isn't separating but the ceramic paint/film around the inside edge of the hatch is all bubbled up / peeling and looks like cr@p.
I know that this stuff is supposed to be protecting the sealant from UV light, but is it possible/wise to scrape it back to somewhere near the joint (like an 1/8th inch from the edge of the hatch) where I assume it actually begins protecting the glue. Mine just looks awful and, in the many spots where it's peeling, can't possibly be protecting anything from UV light.
Has anyone done this and not had issues as time passed?
