Default 944 inter compressor ?

I recently bought a 1985 944 completely stock and has been in storage for 30 years. My question is the inter air compressor is in a Porsche embossed leather bag along with the roll up tool kit. Is this the factory placement of the air compressor and tool kit?

It is if it is an '85.2 and later car with oval dash.

The '85.1 with the old style dash came with a white plastic housing on it's case and was encased in a yellow and black cardboard box. These were also designated 'pilot run' cars and the closer to the switchover date to the different chassis ( heavier bulkhead ), more items may have crossed over in fitment. I have seen some '85.1 cars with more series 2 fittings than others.... such as the different washer squirters on hood.

It is possible some of these black cased air compressors entered the production stream earlier than in others and would have been issued in old dash cars close to the changeover date.
