Default Another "Will these wheels fit?" thread

I'm sure these are getting annoying, and I apologize. I just still don't think I have a firm grasp on all the measurements that have to do with wheels, and I want to make sure these will fit before I go throwing a whole lot of money around. My car has a completely stock suspension, and these wheels came off a 928 I think, but I don't know what year.

front: 18x8 47mm offset with 225/40/18 tires

rear: 18x9.5 53mm offset with 285/30/18 tires

TIA

If memory serves your '89 is a 53mm offset just like my '87, so the wheels should fit, but you may need spacers in the front.

However, you may want to reconsider this purchase and look for some 17" wheels instead.

Here is a link that may help: http://www.blaszakprecision.com/Control_Arms.html

18's do seem tight I have 17's w' 225 at front and 245 at rear and don't think I would want to go any bigger or taller, but that's just my opinion. Good Luck. Scott.

It's a really tight fit. Might work with enough camber and creative use of baseball bat to widen the arches just a tiny bit... ... or not, those ET's are really pushing it.

I have 18X8.5 ET 45 and 18X10 ET 50 on my car with 235/40 and 275/35 Khumo 712's. I have the Turbo S Suspension which is the same as yours and I will rub in the front on the fender wells when I Make slow turns going up inclines. I rub in the back when I have a full tank of gas, passengers, accelerate hard make sharp high speed corners, go over bumps, so basically all the time. I had 265's on their previously and they did not rub once I rolled the fenders.

I don't think a 285 will fit in the back. The next set of tires I buy, I will go back to the 265's. There is not enough of an increase in tire size to make a difference and I would prefer they did not rub.

My wheels are BBS RS II's

I know a 951 here that has 285's in the back running the Technology Twists that are 18X10, but his tires rub on the inside and are very close to rubbing on the outside as well.

Ok, thanks guys.

Cliff, in fact I would rather have 17 inch wheels, I just came across these and figured I'd ask because they are nice.

Oh well, back to shopping around.

Probally a smart choice, notice you have a Tail wastegate, what pound spring did they send with it, on end of box will be a #, mine was .4 which Tim says was a 8 pound spring (less than stock) know I having to purchase a boost controller from SFR to increase boost. Let me know when installing maybe can help. Good luck. Scott.

No no no and NO.

Your stock turbo S wheels are 65mm front and 60mm offset rear.

I tried a 17x8 with a 235/45 and a 46 or 48mm ET...not a friggin chance. Rubbed the fender like whoa. You also need to make sure that whatever wheel you get will clear your brake calipers.

Unfortunately installation is probably months away . The garage that I have is detached from teh apartment building where I live, and it's wet, dark, and unheated. I'll probably end up installing everything in the summer. The Wastegate spring is 11.6 psi, I didn't really see a need to get the 8 psi spring though in retrospect maybe I should have.

Actually I didn't ask for the 8, Tim sent by mistake, but w/ boost controller I have some flexibility and helps to prolong the life I guess. Pulls strong w/ the 8 w/ the new 3" exhaust. I did notice a difference when added Billet bypass, seems to hold boost longer and can hear more air through turbo. Good luck on the wheels. Scott

Thank, I'm starting to lose hope. Anyone have some 17" wheels that are wider than the stock 7.5" and 9" on my car and will fit?
