Legit? If so, any insight on it vs "Turbo" script badge?
1988 944 Turbo S rear deck lid.

Definitely not o.e. , but someone's design gone a bit awry
There was only one turbo S and it was made for part of one year: the '88.2 or second series 951 made the latter half of the 1988 model year with an increase in horsepower and torque, up from 217 h.p. to 247.
In the 1989 model year 951s, the cars retained the same power as the previous turbo S, but Porsche again referred to it as the 'turbo' and dropped the 'S' designation. The cars were pretty much all M030 optioned suspension wise.
One could delete the rear 'turbo' script as an option, if so desired.
