Look at it! Doesn't surprise me AT ALL.

It might approach $30k, or even more. Still has 4 days 16hours left.

SWEET car!

Agreed - it's a damn nice example. Original 914-6s have been in the high teens for a while now. They're getting rare and desirable, at least in the US where they weren't labeled as VWs. The car bears a spooky resemblance to Keith Sueme's (of 911 & Porsche World) 914-6, currently up for sale across the pond.

[edit] Just noticed another one listed with a Buy-It-Now of $20k.

after all, in the new excellence issue, a new column called "top ten" had the 914-6 listed as one of the top ten drivers porsches of all time by one of the authors

I seem to recall that they going rate for a decent condition 914/6 will be on the other side of $20k. Remember, they only built some 3,500 of them (if even that many).

Funny, I was just reading "Keith Martin on Collecting Porsche" from Sports Car Market and Jim Schrager writes of the 914-6 as being uncollectable - too harsh a ride and not enough performance even with the 911 motor. He recommends the 73-76 2.0 instead - similar performance and easier/cheaper to maintain.

i love the size, agility and drivetrain layout of the 914. however, its appearance has never excited me in the least bit.
