Default 944 Turbo Search

Hello all.
Recently got an itch for a 89+ turbo manual.

Looking for a black one locally, that I can drop weight and increase power on. I did this on my 911 and love it.

Anything in particular I should look out for on these cars?

Thanks

They are low in production and much coveted.

Thus,

well cared for, low mileage units

are getting very expensive

Sort of like asking, “I’m in the market for a long nose 911 - anything I should look out for?”

Top of the list? How fresh are the timing belts. Then everything else. Don’t be afraid of a high mileage car (100k+) car as long as it’s been well-maintained and has the records to back it up. If you want a low mile car, don’t wait too long - prices are starting to orient towards the typical Porsche trajectory.

Try keeping an eye on the "944 Turbo For Sale" section of PCA's "Panorama" magazine. One listed in California now, 105,000 miles with track mods, $15,000. YMMV.
