Second, the point was to show people some guys cheap attempt at trying to make his car look better by sticking on 944 and/or 944 like panels. It is relevant to this forum, and it was meant for no more then a laugh, I don't see what your worked up about.
Third, when i said don't insult our intelligence, I was joking, cause i reasoned you must be joking, but maybe not?

THAT THING IS A RX7 1ST GENERATION, with a known widebody kit,
The kit is 1000.00 that includes everything, body panels etc, and shipping... the only thing that isnt bolt up is the quarter panels, which have to be fitted, just like a widebody kit for the 944.
The side exhaust and sills are something the owner added, the kit has porsche style box sills.
By the way their is a similar kit for the 240/260/280Z and even a convertible version for an extreme makeover of the Z car.
I can't say I like it or dont like it, I love the work that would go into building it, developing the kits etc.
I know the company that makes the kit, they also do two engine kits, one for the v8 and the other for adapting a second generation twin turbo setup from the the 89-91 Turbo RX7.
The Rotary engines are something else as engineering goes, especially the 20B.
The car shown is a poor example, the ones I have seen in person are screamers, they are no porsche, but as widebody kits and all that go, their are some beautiful cars I have seen done.
Well in closing I would say that if someone gave me a 1st gen RX7 I would probably turbo charge it and add that kit, paint it the same as one of my Porsches and take both of them to car shows, use the RX7 as a "Mini-Me" version of the porsche hahaha....
at least it isnt painted like a bowling ball and riding on 22" rims or something crazy like that...
Of course no matter what I would do or what I like or dont like I wouldnt want to stare at that example for very long....
