Default Hello Rennmeisters

I just wanted to say hello and introduce myself and my 1988 944 n/a. I'm Tim from Buffalo. I am the forth owner of the car and the second owner was my friends father. Unfortunately, the third owner let it deteriorate into its current condition and I have decided to save it, maybe even restomod it. Any an all advice is appreciated. And I am also looking to find some locals here if there are any. Thanks!

Hello,Tim from Buffalo. Advice? Don't get discouraged when restoring the beast. Know when to walk away from a repair and return another time. At least that's my approach. I try and have fun working on the porkie and whine and complain but enjoy the fleeting moments of Porsche love that it returns to me. I'm a slave to it but it's now who I am. 😋

Timbo, Look up The Niagara PCA Join the Club! We have a Happy hour every month this time of year at the Rose Garden/Angry Buffalo. We have several people that have 44s hang out and I really enjoy helping them out when I can. I like to see these cars at the track as well.

In about 2 weeks I have a 944T coming to the shop that I am fabricating a rollcage for (might be of interest) . Sweeny, you are also very welcome to hang out ECT The more the Merrier...

Sound advice Swenny! I guess that's why they call it a "labor" of love.

Thanks Darren! Good call on reliability first. I decided to look at the car as a complete system made up of sub-systems. I'm hoping to go through each sub-system and make necessary repairs as well as upgrades that will be needed for the future performance of the car.

You're right, I should join the PCA! And I would definitely be interested in the roll cage project and happy to lend a hand if needed (although I have no welding skills). Thanks GPA951s!
