When the car gets hot, and I let it idle, smoke comes from around the little
hole in the attatchment. And it makes a really $hitty smell too. Could it be
the fuel lines? Sometimes those smoke signals come up when I'm driving. I
know my rear oil seal is dripping a little oil on the exhaust, but the problem
is that I'm getting random smoke signals from time to time when the car is
hot. Wtf is going on? Am I in risk of an engine fire?

Rich,
Would that result in time to time smoke signals? When it starts to smoke it
does so for about 10 seconds, then it goes out, and leaves some nasty
smell. Then, if I wait a while, it'll do it again, and again, etc.

That hole opens to the wheel well. Can you look and see in the well next time it does it? Also, since its in the proximity of the fuel lines, keep a fire extinguisher handy. Some fuel additives smell like a$$. Can you describe the nasty smell? Could it be rotten eggs or burning rubber?
