Default 944Racing wing

If I get this job that I'm interviewing for, I'll be banking over $1k/month. Therefore, after a few months I may treat myself to the late S2/968 wing that I've loved so much. Unless I can find a good used one, I may just get the one from 944Racing that people have spoken about.

So, my question... Does anyone have any experience with this product? I did a search and found people saying that they were going to buy it, but I haven't been able to find anything about it's quality, ease of installation, vendor reliability, etc. Any thoughts?

BB.

It's the same one that KLA used to sell but they said they had quality control issues with it. Tifosiman has the KLA wing on his car and it looks great to me. He could answer your question better than me so if he doesn't see this post, send him a PM.
I want the same piece for my car and am planning on getting one from 944racing. Last I checked their website was down but I haven't checked lately.
I think Scott Harrison (sh944) has a 968 style wing for sale also.

Yeah, their site was down a week or two ago, but it's back up now. But thanks for the tips! I don't really have the money to buy a wing at this moment, although I suppose it wouldn't hurt to ask him "how much?"

I have it. It is the same as the KLA rear wing. (I think they supplied it to KLA or visa-versa. KLA no longer sells them). Installation was fairly straight forward. I needed to do a little modification to the parts kit to make it work preoperly, but nothing that you shouldn't be able to handle. It looks very nice on the car. One tip: have two helpers when you are ready to "flex" the wing to install it. It is a 3 man job.

Thanks for the reply!

Did you have yours painted or did you do it yourself? How much prepping did it need?

Hey BB,

It comes in 4 pieces, all in gel-coat (the 3 trim pieces are fiberglass, different from stock pieces that are rubber/plastic):

There was some prep and painting to be done. If you aren't handy with paint, have your local shop paint it for you before installing.

Hope that helps!

I'm handy enough such that I'd be willing to give it a go on my own. I'll just have to research it to see whether it's worth going with full automotive paint (I'll have access to the equipment) versus good quality spray paint. I'd paint it black, so I'm not concerned with matching the car...

Thanks again!

I'm looking to do this too. I've done business with Jeff at 944Racing and I've ALWAYS been satisfied. What's the deal with Scott's wing? Is it from a 968 or aftermarket?
Thanx for this post, BTW.

Michelle, Scott was selling one that he got from KLA. He bought two and decided not to use one of them. I'm not sure if he still has it or not.

You're welcome.
Are you coming to the 944 Fest? Chris told me how nice your car is. I'd love to see it. I was thinking of buying it but you beat me to it.

Little tiny pictures make it look a lot better than it is. It should be wearing a new paint job by July.
