Default 944s sport Option?

Can anyone tell me what was included in the Sport (or club sport) Option for the 87 & 88 944s?

The 944S Club Sports were set up similiar to the later 944S2 club sports and Escort Turbos (Cup Cars). Not many made. I know some came to the US to run in the Firehawk and SCCA races.

They have the black plastic non-power mirrors, came with 8 and 9 by 16 magnesium phone dials, turbo brakes (I think its the std 86-88, not turbo S), and light weight features, which probably included AC and sunroof delete, possibly a fiberglass hood, undercoating/sound deadening delete, etc. However PCA club race rules have the car weighing the same as stock (2822), which I believe is incorrect. But I havent seen any at a PCA club race since '94 at Road America.

The suspension was probably koni double adjustable with helper springs in the rear, and also heavier sway bars, probably 30mm front and 21mm adj rear.

The factory option list for 87 mentions this as a dealer option code available in addition to the M030 option (I think it was code 637 or something like that and it had to be purchased with M030 also). The description is rather vague and says something like " and additional measures to lighten the car..."

If it says M030 anywhere on that car, its a keeper! (that was the sport suspension package!)

Mine does not have the mo30 option. I had heard of a sport option and was wondering what it was. I have though about getting the mo30 sway bars for it, but it handles better than I can drive now anyway.

I had the 'sport' option on my 85.5, it was sport Konis, sport springs and sways-not mo30. I should've kept a copy of the Cardex.
