What does the Fuel Diaphragm Dampener do?

What benefit would you get by replacing?

I think it allows for steady fuel flow at the pressure determined by the Fuel Press. Regulator, FPR. Not sure if a new one would help, are you having lean running issues?

I'm in the process of compiling a prioritized parts list and even though I've spent most of my life playing with cars I had no idea what the dampener would do.

Touch wood I have no problems at the moment.

Same thing as an exhaust muffler. Smooths out the flow.

The fuel damper smooths out pressure pulses in the fuel rail. The pulses are caused when the injectors open and close. By removing the puslation the injectors can produce consistant flow rates and spray patterns.
