Default $225 Labor To Replace A Control Arm?

Buddy's 968 needs control arms. Shop says $450 for both if we supply parts. How much time should it take the two of us? He has a quickjack. We are capable, doing a time analysis since it is football season. Thanks.

One hour per arm is plenty.

Its pretty quick. Do one during halftime of the early games, second one during halftime of the afternoon games.

Yes an hour each would do assuming you are just eyeballing the alignment back in.

Alldata (the most used labor guide) says 1.7 hours for both arms + alignment. At my shop, that would be $257. Seems like your local shop is including the Euro car aggravation fee.

Congrats on moving rebuilds from the kitchen to a shop!

Thanks all. It will be a DIY.

Thanks! After several years at dealerships, a buddy and I broke away about 6 years ago to open our shop. It's been great!
That said, I still rebuild my own stuff at home and parts still make their way into the kitchen. Only difference these days is I'm 20 years older, I have 2 kids to help, and a wife to create resistance to putting car parts on her granite. I really should put a sink in the garage.

When we moved from NY to CO we found a house with a 3 car garage. I was told I could have 2, and occasionally use the third. That's a great idea for the sink. The laundry room is on the other side of the wall.
