Default 86' 944 n/a DME wiring diagram

On the 86 factory DME wiring diagram, pin 10 says "codes plug" does anyone know what this is and or what it does? Thanks, Joe.

Good question. It has brown with white wire going to what is called the codes plug and then a brown wire going to a welding point connection with field indication of B50. The big question is...what does welding point connection with field indication of B50 mean. It may be a solder point/joint.
It may be a data access point for the DME. I didn't think our DMEs had that ability.

The code plugs are used to enable different fuel and ignition maps depending on what part of the world the car is going to operate in.

I don't have all of the particulars but as I understand it, the code plug is nothing more than a resistor.

Perhaps the venerable Mr. F.R. Wilk can help. I was a beta tester for one of his performace chips and he shipped it with a custom code plug.
