There seems to be a lot of this going on lately. Anyone read the sticky yesterday from JohnD regarding the 911 rennlister that was taken for $6500 for a 930 engine? Scary.

Cool

Duke...

Sorry about your experience.

Sounds like address may be a mailbox service (mailboxes, etc,). I don't have time to check the address on the internet as I'm at work now. But that might give you some leads.

To bad I didn't know about this sooner. I was in Camden a couple months ago for a Revolutionary War reenactment... Could have paid your "friend" a visit with twenty kilt-wearing, sword and bayonet toting Scotsmen.

Good Luck!

This kind of crap sucks. I've decided that any used stuff I by will have to be within driving distance so I can pick it up. It's really unfortunate.

Tifosiman:
Regarding the 930 engine, it appears that guy has scammed more than one person (inlcuding someone I know). I think it's time for a little frontier justice, like Toby Keith and Willie Nelson sing about.

I have a deal with another rennlist memeber as well that is not looking too good. Paypaled the guy the money and no parts. I got alot of excuses early as to why he could not send the goods. I rode with it and now have not gotten any response to my last two emails in the past couple weeks.

I am not yet ready to reveal a name yet as I want to work this out, but i'f don't get at least a response I will start broadcasting it here to hopefully get some reaction from him.

The only good thing is that the deal was for less money than Duke's.

Duke I feel for you man.

This guy didnt even spell Luftwaffe right luftwafe46@blackcodemail.com!!

There is nothing I hate to see more than honest people, cheated out of their money. We should all try to contact this guy.

Maybe we could set up a feedback system for members whom we deal with? It could be something like a rating included along with the user name, membership status, registration date, etc.

I have dealt with a couple of members and had great results. Didn't cross my mind that I would be ripped off.

I think it has something to do with the rapport you build with other members from posting to threads over time, as well. Also, a frequent poster would have a hard time hiding after shafting someone.

This guy is really shady. I found out by his email address that his ISP is www.blackcode.com. And I don't think Matt is his real name. It could not relate that email address to that name. I'd get the authorities involved or contact the ISP.

I think that's an excellent idea. Maybe some sort of small numeric with graphics representation next to our ID much like Ebay's. However input of ratings should be restricted to Rennlist members to prevent cheating. It would be easy for a shady character to assume numerous ID's to twist the feedbacks.

Rwodabeck is onto something. Reverse lookup of the number provides the name Eric Boland. Turns out Eric Boland of 520 U.S. Highway 1, North
Camden, South Carolina 29020-2599, is the headmaster of Camden Military Academy---of the same address.
They are on the web at www.camdenmilitary.com/contact.htm

I think it's time to call Col. Boland and let him know what his son's been up to.

That sounds like a real nice place to send your son...

Interesting that none of their marketing mentions anything about building character or values, just personal success.

Dads, send us your losers, we'll whip them into shape!

Yow!

I would highly recommend when ever buying something off of the list, ask for refrences. I sell a lot of stuff on here, and I have always made sure folks are happy with there purchase. I would love to see a feedback area for people to use.

Or if there are other rennlisters in the area of the seller, maybe they would be willing to check out whatever you may be buying.
