Question pic of 924's with other wheels?

can you guys post some pics of 924's with different wheels?
something more modern, in 17", i've seen boxster wheels before but thats about it. like to get some more ideas.
Now i know the 944 is similar ofcourse but still they are not the same. what looks good on the 944 may not look as nice on a 924.
oh it doesn't matter if its a early 924(or 931) or a 924S.

thanks
Mike

It matters!, Most early 924's wouldn't last very long with 17s. First off, the bearings in the 4 lug cars probably couldnt take the extra stress. Second, they're slow enough with 14 or 15 inch, the extra weight of 17" would probably render them motionless.

well i was just looking for pics, so in a picture it wont matter, or do you think the picutre wont be able to handle the stress???

but then again you're wong on all acounts, many of these newer 17's are as light as the 15's, riceboys have been using 17-18's on cars with smaller axles for years.

Looks is looks, but total weight itself is not the problem, it's rotational inertia. Larger diameter wheels move the center of the rotational mass further away from the axis, requiring more horsepower to accerlate and more braking power to slow. It's all about leverage. Smaller diameter wheels even if a little heavier overall, allows the car to accelerate out of the turns quicker and not overheat the brakes (i.e. the best set-up for AX is a super ligth 15" wheel).

true, if you're comparing a super light 15 to a regular 17(which the stock 14-15 924 wheels are not). but you are loosing rotating weight off the tire when you go to a bigger rim, plus AX kinda sucks anyway. so the difference is minimal. I wont even have to worry about the 4 bolt anyway, so i dont care what the persons car in the pic is. I just want to see some friggin pics, for reference.
post a pic and shut up

The reason why no one has any is because no one makes a 17 inch wheel with an early 924 4 bolt pattern.

listen to Dave, he knows his stuff.

Here is a pic of the 924 that I bought the header panel from for my car, with some 993 cups:

Here is a shot of a badass 924 that is in the current 911&Porsche World. This car is my idea of the uber 924, sorta a 924RS if it may be. I think it has 16" boxster wheels, all 7" wide IIRC, painted black(this is an early, non-S that he converted the axles to 944 units with custom coil-overs):

No all of them early ones had 4 bolt.
and YES there are 17's wheel for the 4 bolt pattern. the 924 is not the only car with that pattern. i have seen a few 924s with 4 bolt 17"
i specifically recall one with TSW wheels.

m danger,
ín my opinion, the 16 inch phonedial rims on my 924S are as big as one should go on the 924 design. the styling is older and more subtle. putting big flashy rims on this car almost never turns out looking tasteful, not to mention the rubbing issues if you don't roll the fenders. there is a link to my cardomain web page in my signature for pics of my car.
