Kinda skinny for a 944, same tire size but 944s had a minimum of 7"wide wheels all around. Could be good for snow tires since skinny is better on snow.

I agree.

Also: I have heard that some 944's have clearance issues with some 986 wheels: seems the front wheel bearing caps stick out too far, preventing the wheel from sitting flush against the hub.

I also think the 968 5-spokes are a nicer, more modern looking wheel, but then again, I'm biased!

Those wheels are a little narrow for a 944. A 7.5" or 8" wheel fills out the fenderwells much better.
They'd be a nice upgrade for a 924S!

They will fit early cars with spacers.

I have those rims I got on ebay from like $600 with tires. However, the owner did not include the freakin "Porsche" center caps. Front is 16x6 and rears are 16x7. If you have a late offset 944 (87 and up), The fronts need spacers to clear the dust cap. I got the spacers at Pep Boys for like $8 each. With spacers in front, the wheels look very good and not skinny at all as you all might think. I agree, one of the best rims for the late model 944. I have 205/50/16 fronts and 225/50/16 in back.. Looks nice.

I'd rather have 2 sets of the back wheels like that - 16X7. They are great looking wheels!
