Question Europroducts 944S Chip on eBay

Do any of you 944S drivers have the Europroducts chip? Would you recommend one? Apparently this guy bought a bunch of them at a bankruptcy auction and has been selling them. I figure for $49 what the hey.

Bad things as in stuff breaking, or bad things as in not much, if at all, performance increase?

Apparently the previous owner of my ex 944S chipped it, can't say if it did anything since I didn't really have anything to compare it against. Ran beautifully though, no ill effects whatsoever...

I have heard stories about stuff breaking... from what people have told me, the NA 944's were already at the optimal point as far as what a chip screws with... its just what i have heard??? Dont' shoot the messenger...

chipping the n/a's and chipping the turbo are two totally different things! chipping the n/a's only allows you to modify fuel maps, chipping the turbo's allows the KLR to allow more boost and then the DME to redo the fuel maps accordingly.... go for it!

I bought Europroducts for an early 951 about a month ago but dont yet have a car to try them out on... I was told by numerous owners that they were a great help over stock, but not as good as Guru... but hey, like ya said... value!!

Yup - I have his chip in my S and love it.

Improved the low end pull and the RPM's rise a lot quicker. Markus knows his 944's!!!

Plus, it's only like $150 Canadian. I'll be selling mine soon (and the DME, and the dash and the.........well, you get the point).

Does he have seveal 944S chips? Could be a good deal if no one bids them up. I've seen lots of guys sell the same thing over and over. Just wait and the price seams to drop everytime as the "market" is slowly saturated.

I did the search, know the debate.
This guy is selling to many 944S owners and I thought some of them should be here on Rennlist and could chime in on any improvements.

944SBoyee, someone else already claimed your chip, if he doesn't take it I might. Thought you would want to keep the engine in one system. If you break it up I'll make an offer on the Magnacor wires.

Yea, $49 and no bids. Check his feedback, many sales to 944S drivers.

Just wanted to bring this up again. I purchased this chip about 6MO. ago For an Extra "S" DME I have. I installed it in the DME. But I have not Installed the DME in the car yet. I am nervous to. Anyone been running with the europroducts chip for a couple+ months?

I didn't buy the chip so I can't help. I have not changed a chip in a 944. I have disconnected my DME to check some signals and I think the way the connector comes off it disconnects the ground first. This is important because if you disconnect the postive first you can get sparking that will destroy the chip. One way to protect is to disconnect the negative terminal at the battery first and then install the DME. Probably a procedure on Clarks or Pelican you could follow. Do it correctly and you should not have any problems.

I had an Europroducts chip in my 8v NA. Noticed no difference whatsoever. Put in FRWilks chip and noticed a difference in low-end power.

My S has this chip in it. yo do get some low end pull. It is noticable. It isn't turbo power but you will know it. It does rev up quicker. NOW the only warning I have is there is no rev limiter in this chip so yo must watch your RPMS in the red line. For$50.00 it is in my opinion would be worth it.
