Default Fuel Rail Plastic Cover

PO removed the black plastic cover on the fuel rail when he installed the sway bar. Personally, I think it would look better with it on. Does this do anything, or is strictly cosmetic?

do you mean strut brace?

our auto doesnt have one, but my daily does. it holds the injector harness to the rail, and covers the rail. its functional (otherwise it wouldnt be there) as far as holding the harness to the rail.

The cover on mine is lost ( PO...) and wiring is strapped to the rail with ty-raps.
Works fine, no problems. Functionality of the cover is most probably cosmetic and maybe some time reduction in assembly.

I took mine off when I was having problems with vapor lock, I thought it might keep the fuel in the rail cooler.

For some reason I still have hot start problems, but it only when it's cooler outside. Go figure.

The injector harness is tie wrapped to the railnow, but I have the original rail cover. I guess I'll just put it on and see if everything function ok and how I like the looks.
