Default WUHU!!! just got a 91 celica for 300 dollars

oh yeah! finally something goes my way. i just picked up a 91 toyota celica GT-S with 155k miles for 300 dollars. the car is in awsome shape: power windows/locks/mirrors/sunroof all work, as well as the A/C and heat. the car needs a new transmission (it's an auto), but that is no big deal at all (i'm the junkyard king). the blue book value for the car is 3200 dollars. my plan was to fix the tranny and sell it for 2000, but it is so much nicer then my '84 VW rabbit GTI i think i might keep it for a little while. oh, no rust at all either, and the engine bay is very clean. i'll post pics when i get them.

Nice buy. How did u get that for $300.? 155K on that Celica is nothing, properly maintained it can go 300K easily. I say keep it, its a fun sporty car and can be used as daily car with no problems. Just dont rice it out.

oh don't worry!!! rice=zero resale value. i got the car for 300 dollars because some girl here at school had it at the shop to get a new transmission. here is what she told me: the shop will replace the clutch, transmission, and fix the rear brakes for $2400. well, i can replace the tranny and do the rear brakes for much less then $500. she just wanted to get rid of the car, so her loss my gain.

oh and it has a new alternator, and the timing belt was done a year ago. she also used premium gas, and gave it an oil change regularly. she has almost all the records, including those from the PO. she had the car for 5 years before the tranny went out.
