im me at SoundBoy4 and i can give you a quick walkthrough, it's not nearly as complicated as it seems. all three ARE from the same pic, i'm really proud of the middle one, i think it's cool to get the car looking like that from a standstill. that's why i got it blown up at kinko's and is proudly displayed at the dorm wall at the moment

Assuming IM is aol which I don't have unfortunatelt. Is there any other way?

aah what the hell i'll run through the jist real quick. First thing was to use the stamp tool to clear up a few 'imperfections' in the car...like that small knick in the front right fender i got the first week i got the car trying to pull it into the garage between the tools and mom's expedition *bangs head on desk* and erasing my yellow shirted couzin from the window using the stamp tool as well.
I made a copy of the picture and erased everything but the car so the car was on it's own layer and i got the wheels on their own layer as well. I made the wheels bigger with a Free Transform and gave the rims and tires a radial blur. selecting them and a chunk of the ground i 'pushed' it into the car a bit to make it look lowered.
I used a motion blur for the entire background, and a series of blurs on a copy of the layer with the car itself... and used one of the layer effects to make it look like when the car drove by it gave the world some color or something... um, i'm not really sure if this helps any, but it's the best i can do under the circumstanses. the original image is fricking huge and honestly it took me a good four to five hours for me to get it perfect enough to be willing to spend 17 bucks at kinkos for it, my best advice would be just to spend time with the program and sooner or later everything sinks in

I use to physically use the eraser tool to delete everything on one layer. I would make multiple layers of the same image and get each layer to be what i want be erasing everything else. Too slow. Now i just use quick mask. Basically selesct a color for your foreground square and then hit "Q" on your keyboard. Select the paintbrush tool and color in the object you want as a layer. It should be in quick mask mode. (and dull red paint) When you are done, hit Q again to go back into regular mode. The current selection is everything EXCEPT what you painted. Just go to SELECT and then INVERSE to select the object you just painted. Copy and paste to a new layer, or whatever you want, etc... OR say you select all the paint on your car. Go to IMAGE, ADJUSTMENTS, HUE/SATURATION. Put saturation on 100% and then adjust hue to change your paint color! Make sure COLORIZE is checked. Fun stuff!

after you have made a quick mask you can also save that selection and it makes it an alpha channel.... so if you ever need to select it again you wont have to go through all that trouble of making another mask.

Three Wheelin'
That is really cool looking, what size/resolution was the picture originally taken at? I think I will download Photoshop and mess around with it. I love file sharing programs!

i don't remember the resolution the original picture was taking at, i've got the picture cd with it at the dorm and i'm not there right now. i actually took the pic on a regular camera, but when i got the film developed i asked for them to put the pictures on a cd as well, that's the one i used.

i've got the D90s wrapped in Kumho Ecsta MXes from i got from Tirerack. The front are 205/55 with 225/50 on the rears. They are the best tires i've ever autocrossed on but it looks like they won't last me as long as i would have liked...ah well
