Default Need a part number***LSD Question???

Is there a part number for the limited slip diff. in the 951 tranny? If so, what is it? Can this part be added to a non LSD turbo tranny???

I have a couple of numbers for a '88 944s2 LSD they Are:
951 332 053 03 (LSD 40%)
or
951 332 053 05 (LSD 40%) it has a note "MODEL M758" if that means anything to you.

I BELIEVE M758 means sport option, like M030 or something, but, am NOT aware how the diff would actually be different- all were ZF type, as opposed to 968- the 968 had optional ZF OR Torsen in 92 & after that, all were Torsen... THAT would be the ticket- getting a 968 Torsen in a 951 w/custom gears, as the 968's are too short & WAY too close together up top, but, is supposed to be MUCH stronger than 951 trans- not sure about anything else though exept, w/the 968 trans, we're talking $$$... I had talked w/Powerhaus II about it a long time ago & was quoted ~$5K for a swap w/custom gears 2-6 (they were $300 ea) & then, later, was told by someone else there that it would cost $900 per gear & that $5K would be w/stock gears, so, it would end up closer to $10K by the time it was said & done & THEN, you'd have the prob of hooking up the speedo-

I know no one ASKED for that little bit of input, but....

I've also always wondered how difficult it would be to bring the lock up to 60% like later cars & 968 turbo's(???)...

M220 is Limited Slip use the PET (thanks dualblade!) press F7 when you have the program up. it will give you the transmission codes. there is a serial number on the top of the transmission above the imput shaft.(you will need to remove the transmission to get to it.) On mine it Read "7Q 05096" the 7Q designates M220 or LSD. this was for a 924S though so yours may be different.
