Default Vehicle Speed Sensor Wire for Early 944

I'm curious if the Early 83-85.5 Porsches have a VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) wire. It seems that a lot of goodies that i'd like to use need to tap into this wire. Such as GPS nav and etc. Any help would be appreciated on how to locate this, or if one can be installed. My car is an 84.

thanks!

The later models have a speed sender that comes off of the left side of the differential at the transaxle. Send pulses to the speedometer.

There is a pulse generator that is on the back of the early model speedos that's used for the miles per gallon gauge. You might be able to grab the signal if you don't gum up the MPG gauge. If you don't have the MPG gauge in the tach I understand that all the speedos have this hall circuit.
