I have the SilverStars on my 924S as well, they were on sale at Pepboys a few months ago. I think it was something like $30 for the pair. If you take a picture with the flash off they look even brighter! . Depending on whether or not i keep this car or not, i think i may purchase one of IceSharks lighting setups in the near future.
It was real foggy this night, i figured a great time to take pictures

What you guys need to do is take a picture of the ligthing down the road, not the headlight, front on. See Danno's GuruRacing site for some pics that Ben S. took. And that was without the headlight harness so the potential light is a few hundred % higher .... you can be at true Arc Hid levels or even better.
I don't care who makes what, but the Sylvania SilverStars are more or less a marketing play. They are good for 55/60 watt bulbs but I would get Sylvania's Parent's, Osram BiLux bulb if you are going that way. That is sort of hard to find in the USA.
If you really want to run with the big dogs you have to rewire for voltage and put in 90/100 bulbs. And a good lens. The lighting change is phenomenal.

How long would you rate the installation of the entire wiring harness? I am sure installation of this far exceeds my abilities, probably will need to have my fathers mechanic do the work for me (while i hand him the right wrenchs of course!). Just i dont want too tie him up that long...and i think my father would be more inclined to let me do it if it dosent take a full mornings work!

I am also looking at this system.

The SilverStars are the best bulbs for the price, IMO.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong but Sylvania's web site doesn't show the standard Xenarc HID 7" Round lenses along with the price that would work in our cars. This is sort of interesting. Daniel Stern was a manager on that project and got so mad about how it was going that he quit. And then started bad mouthing Sylvania Xnearcs to anyone that would listen comparing them to about equal to a normal sealed beam at $5 each. All that stopped when the lawyers came into the picture.
But Sylvania dropped the price on them pretty quick and steep. Now it looks like they are almost gone. You really don't want to use those unless you are going for the Ford and Chevy truck lights which were subcontracted to other manufacturers and turned out rather well.
Techno Duck, the install is a simple project, just takes some time to pull stuff to get to the alternator. Since you don't have a 951S yet, getting to the back of the alternator is not such a time consumer. Now all you have to do is fish the right hand wire harness over. Most of the guys with the 924/944 solid bumper just pull the two bolts on the shocks off and lay the harness in. Pretty simple and only takes a couple minutes.
There are over 300 hundred of these wiring harnesses out there. Guys have bitched a bit about getting to the alternator, but not much. If it was real complicated you would have a million threads on Rennlist about how hard the install was.
