Default stuck headlights

ok i hav a question....if i turn my headlights on and then maybe 10 seconds later turn everything off, my headlights do not go back down until the lights have been off a long time...however if i use the headlights for a while and then turn them off they go down fine....right now it's pretty cold down here and my headlights won't go down at all...does the temperature have anything to do with it? anybody else have this problem? thanks.

This used to happen on my 924. Normally I could raise the hood and tap the relay at the side of the headlight motor and the headlights would retract/open. If tapping works, the problem is usually dirty/corroded relay contacts.

I agree- replace the relay. or pull it out and reseat it a few times to clean off the contact pins.

Jake- I'll trade ya- my headlights wont stay up.

Brake cleaner on a Qtip is a great electrical connection cleaner (and it also works for cleaning brakes). Mine were stuck down one time, after I lubed all the movement joints I never had a problem again, I like 'lock ease' graphited lock fluid for those little lube jobs.
