No failure on my 1987 944 NA with 144k on the clock. I do not know the history of the car, but I have not had it on the track.

145 k
Changed rod bearings at 140 k. Quite bad wear.
No failure, lots of track timesince 125 k. Synthetic oil and frequent changing.

Adrial, I was one of the "no bearing failures" early on, You know my car, 105K, 200 track miles (1 weekend, so far), a couple seasons of AX. Last years engine replacement was due to ring failure, I never pulled the bearings to check them but the engine had good oil pressure (I wish the new one were as good) and all seemed good except the leakdown on the #1 cyl.

One failure (#2), 4 years ago during autocross. Stock everything, full oil. Car had ~150k, had been autocrossing (15+) and street driving previously. Now have newer engine starting at ~40k, no internal mods, no external cooling, several track days and autocrosses with no failures yet.

No failures. Just replaced @153k. No idea as to the history of the car. The bearings were dated in '85 so I assume they were original. They looked fine and would have no problem going to the track with them. #4 had two small scores on it.

No failures, replaced around 200k miles (I don't even remember anymore). Going past 216k miles now, still no problems. At the time of the replacement, they looked a little worn but with a lot of service life still left in them.

Ok I am a bit late, but here is my List

88 Turbo S - NONE
100% Stock with 118k, Original bottom end, Used Valvoline 20w50 and some also SAE 60, always street tires.
3 seasons autocrossing plus 5 to 10 track days (forget exactly)
No issues and no plans to change since I do not track it much any more

84 944 - Daily Driver Stock 75k
Few autocross and 2-3 track days. A ok.

84 944 - 944 -spec car
Replaced with low milage engine in 2000 45k and used Mobil 1 15w15 and original rod bearings.

Ran the following successfully...
21 Autocrosses
16 Non-Race Track Days
7 Race Days
On the 8th race day the #2 seized and put a hole in my block.

Rebuilt with an old block estimate at 140k miles. Installed new rod and main bearings. Stock crank and stock oil cooling. Again used Mobil 1 15w50.
Ran the following...
1 - Autocross
21 - Race Days
I replace my Mobil 1 with Amsoil Racing 20w50. Noticed no oil pressure loss at high RPM during a run as I had with Mobil 1.
Ran 1 race day and a second with a 2 hr enduro.

Further looking at my failure makes me wonder if it could have be caused by a broken oil pick-up tube caused by miss-timed balance shafts?

No failures, car was a track car for PO and occasional DD. Car has 195K on it and I replaced them a few weeks ago. All in all, it was probably not necessary as the old bearings looked very good. I dont know if they had been done before.
