Default Took the S out for a spin...

Since I got the M3 I havemt been driving the S near as much as I should, not to mention the S has an electrical problem which drains the battery everytime I tunr the car off, its not the alt, that is fine, it is somethign else, bad ground maybe.

Anyhow, I jumped it yesterday, took it up to the gas station, got gas, put some air in the tires, and went to turn to go home, turned the other way and went into an industrial park. MAN that car handles!!! I miss the linear cornering and the total ability to go in and out under full throttle...the M3 will spin in a skiny second if I go in full power.

I tore through the park taking every turn sliding, had a blast, just wanted to share!!

The S is going into the shop for the elec probs, brake work and new tires soon, then she will get some new body panels, some new seals and paint. The rims will also get refinished in the spring. I am excited to see her all brand new looking again! I will post pics when ready.

I know the feeling. A friend of mine who is a mechanic at a BMW/Lotus dealership (they do a lot of Porsche work as well) keeps telling people that the 944 is probably the best car Porsche ever made when it comes to having fun behind the wheel... Now if a guy who has driven a 917 says that I believe him.

Detune the M3 to the same HP per pound. Too much HP to the wheels is not as "better" as one would think.

if you think stock 944 handling is nice, then upgrade as many of the people here have done. thicker sway bars, stiffer springs, better shocks, and wow these cars really handle well.

despite the multiple problems i've had with my car the past year (it's run normally for only 4 of the past 12 months), i still won't sell it because when it does run well, man - it feels great to drive!!

WHAT?!?! you cannot be serious! ...PLEASE don't detune an M3!! Drive it differently thats all; keep the throttle from the floor and roll on the power after the apex of the tune... for Ferdy's sake, don't detune it!

For the record...I WOULD NEVER DETUNE ANY CAR!!!!!(unless my wife was driving it) If you can't drive it, learn to or sell it to someone who can.
