The new "Excellence Was Expected" is awsome!
Got it for Christmas today. My uncle bought it for me, said he was surprised it came in. He was told it probably wouldn't be in before Christmas due to the difficulty of keeping it in stock. The tech photos are great, even from the OLD designs. I love the first pic in Volume I, Professor Porsche and engine designer Franz Reimspiess together. Much thanks to Karl Ludvigsen for his work on this priceless (as I look at it) literature. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

There are two chapters that encompass the 944 series. One in Volume II (pages 943-967), and one in Volume III (pages 1095-1123). The first is called "Feisty Forty-Four" and second "Sixteen-Valvers". The second also covers 968 models as well. I haven't read them yet, but they look great. The put the 951 against the 911 Carrera of the same time, and it was more expensive, but was only slightly (fractions of a second slightly) slower and only 1 mph slower in top end. Also, the first 150 951s were kept as lease vehicles for employees, and 49 951s were made in 1984! I'd say it covers more "unknown" info about the 951 than known. I think that's all I can share for now.

Yeah, somebody should send a copy of that book to "Britwrench" over on the Pelican BBS. I remember a year ago he told me I was stupid and ignorant when I stated that they did make some 951s in the early configuration (I read an online article about it somewhere awhile back and Danno had also stated the same thing as the article I read). Maybe now that it is in the "bible" he will finally believe it...............
Anyway, I really want that book. I think I may order it with some of the Xmas money I got. Thanks for posting the feedback! I was wondering how much 944series content there was.
